Titanic revealed: Stunning full-size images show shipwreck like never before
20/06/2023

The first-ever full-size 3D reconstruction of the Titanic has been created from over 700,000 scans captured last summer by deep-sea mapping firm Magellan Ltd. and Atlantic Productions. The images reveal new details about the doomed ship's sinking, and could provide insights into how it hit an iceberg while sailing from Southampton to New York in April 1912. The 3D model was hailed as "one of the first major steps" towards evidence-based research into the disaster. Despite sinking in 1912, the ship was not discovered until 1985, and a video captured inside the wreck was only recently released in February 2021.
