Betty White, the late Hollywood actress, maintained a close relationship with her husband Allen Ludden's three children from a previous marriage. Ludden's will, which was drafted a year before he was diagnosed with stomach cancer, took care of White and his children. The will named White and Norton Brown as co-trustees of the estate, with the first trust to take care of White for the remainder of her life and the second trust to take care of Ludden's family. In 2008, White went to court and asked for modifications to the terms of the will due to the trustee named by Ludden having died and the alternatives declining the role.
