Teen on doomed OceanGate sub hoped to break world record for Rubik’s Cube in depths of ocean

Suleman Dawood, the 19-year-old who died in the Titan submersible with his father, had hoped to break a world record for solving a Rubik's Cube in the deep ocean. Suleman was able to solve the puzzle in under 20 seconds and had brought it with him on the doomed Titanic-bound sub. His mother, Christine Dawood, said she originally planned to take the trip with her husband but let her son go instead. Suleman and his father Shahzada Dawood were two of five passengers aboard the submersible that died when the craft imploded. The family plans to learn to solve a Rubik's Cube in Suleman's honor. Shahzada Dawood was one of Pakistan's wealthiest men and was involved in charity work and extraterrestrial intelligence research.
