A 45-year-old man named Stephen Corrigan found the naked body of 16-year-old Amber Gibson in a woodland southeast of Glasgow. Instead of informing the police, Corrigan violated and touched Amber's body before hiding it. Amber was sexually assaulted and murdered by her brother, Connor Gibson, on November 26, 2021. Connor removed her clothing and inflicted blunt force trauma to her head and body, ultimately strangling her with the intention to rape her.
Corrigan was found guilty of attempting to defeat the ends of justice and breach of the peace. He denied the charges and claimed he had an alibi. Both Connor and Corrigan were remanded in custody, with the judge warning Corrigan of a "lengthy sentence."
