AMC announced that season 11 of The Walking Dead would conclude this chapter in The Walking Dead universe. While there are many more stories to come in the form of spinoffs, the main series has ended with the eleventh season.
It is a sad thing, but all good things must come to an end. The upside is that the spinoffs give creators a chance to expand the universe, introduce new characters and explore new locations to see how they have fair in the outbreak.
Two of the new series will see a drastic change in location from the main series.
Dead City will travel to the urban setting of Manhattan, which has been cut off from the mainland since right after the outbreak, where a horde of walkers over one million strong has amassed. This will be a stark contrast to the wooded setting of the main series. It also gives creators a who new world to build the apocalypse in, giving fans something new and exciting to look forward to.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will see Daryl (Norman Reedus) wash ashore in France, where he will encounter the variant walkers seen in the coda scene of The Walking Dead: World Beyond's series finale. This series will show how other parts of the world have adapted to a world overrun by the undead, plus introduce a new undead variant.
The final episode of The Walking Dead was very well done, and the majority of fans enjoyed it, especially the coda scene, which brought back Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira). It didn't really seem like the end, as fans know there is a lot more to come within TWDU.
