Chicago Man Charged With Killing Wife, Teen Daughter and Wounding Son — Days After His Wife Filed an Order of Protection !

A man in Chicago allegedly killed his wife and teenage daughter and wounded his son shortly after his wife filed for an order of protection against him. The man, Jose Alvarez, was charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder, and aggravated battery. The wife, Karina Gonzalez, had obtained the order of protection, but it was not served.

The family temporarily moved out but later returned after Alvarez agreed to enter rehab. However, on Monday, Alvarez accused Gonzalez of cheating on him and allegedly shot her and their daughter in the living room. The son, Emmanuel Alvarez, tried to hide but was also shot and wounded. Gonzalez died at the scene, and the daughter passed away at a local hospital from her injuries. Alvarez is due back in court on July 26. A GoFundMe has been set up to help Emmanuel with his medical expenses and the funeral costs.
