Kerry Swinton, a British woman, met the man she donated her kidney to—her now-fiancé Mark Taylor—on her wedding day in 2011. Taylor, who was a longtime friend of Swinton's ex-husband, stopped by to offer congratulations with his then-wife. After Swinton's first marriage ended in divorce, she and Taylor reconnected when she hired his moving service to transport a piano she had purchased. The pair began talking nearly every day, eventually leading to a romantic relationship. In 2021, Taylor's health declined due to polycystic kidney disease. Swinton offered to test as a potential donor and was found to be a match. After a successful transplant, the couple spent six months recovering together and are now engaged to be married in 2024.
