Demi Lovato has revealed she is once again identifying as "she/her" in addition to "they/them" pronouns, saying she is tired of constantly explaining the latter. In an interview with GQ Hype Spain, the singer said she found it exhausting having to educate people about her non-binary identity. She also called for more gender-neutral spaces, such as bathrooms and government documents, saying that being forced to choose between male and female does not make sense to her. Lovato came out as non-binary in May 2021, but added "she/her" back because she was feeling more feminine. She emphasized that respecting people's pronouns is important, even if mistakes are made while learning.
