Woman killed by falling debris on I-95 a day after overpass collapse
2023/06/15

A woman was killed on I-95 in Philadelphia when a large piece of metal hit her vehicle's windshield. This happened just 10 miles south of where an overpass collapsed the previous day, caused by a tanker truck carrying 8,500 gallons of gas that flipped and burst into flames. The driver of the truck, Nathaniel Moody, was also killed. Officials have yet to determine whether the debris that caused the woman's death is related to the collapse. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating. The disaster resulted in the closure of all lanes of I-95 between Woodhaven Road and Aramingo Avenue, causing traffic nightmares for drivers. Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro has issued a disaster declaration to expedite reconstruction efforts.
