Vital Proteins is recalling nearly 60,000 canisters of its Collagen Peptides powder due to potential contamination. The Chicago-based company, which counts Jennifer Aniston as its chief creative officer, voluntarily issued the recall after pieces of a broken blue plastic lid were found in some of its 24-ounce canisters. The affected products were sold at Costco stores in 20 US states and Puerto Rico between April 17 and 24. No injuries have been reported, but customers are being urged not to consume the product and to return it to Costco for a full refund. The recall does not affect any other retailers or Vital Proteins products.
